new TD-10 w/TDW-1 user

hello all...just registered here. my question relates to BANK 1 and BANK 2 settings my owners manual states i should complete prior to using my set. And, as well, says i should tune my heads. Is this required? I have the latest version of TDW-1 c/w V Cymbol control...why does my CY-15 ride have a boom sound when i play it. any help would settle my nerves. thanx
