  • TD-10 old preset

Hi everybody, I am a new entry.

I have updated my TD-10 few days ago with TDW-1 and I don't have saved the old TD-10 preset.
Can anyone tell me how and Where can I get them?? Roland Italy doesn't have any possibility to give me this info.

Somebody told me to take the TDW-1 off and swich TD-10 on keeping pushed SETUP + EXIT buttons.
Before doin' this I'd like to see other ways to get preset sounds.

    Tks for yr help.

Once again (not for the last time)

First, DO NOT REMOVE THE TDW-1!!!!

Now here is an answer that I found by using the search function at the top of the page, second button from the right.

    Reprinted without permission from Boingo.

"The TD-10 kits are still there. Learn how to use the copy function (page 117 of the TD-10 manual) to copy them from the "preset kit area" into the "user area". Also see page 6 and 7 of the TDW-1 manual. Use of the search engine will yield several detailed replies on this topic. Believe me, it's been covered.

If you didn't tweak the TD-10 kits, there is nothing to save to a card or transfer. The preset TD-10 and TDW-1 kits are in ROM, always available to copy to the user area."

    And lastly.
    DO NOT REMOVE THE TDW-1!!!!

          THANK YOU SO MUCH !!

I have tried to copy a drum kit and TD-10 asks me from where and then I go choosing old preset.

          GREAT !!!

But now I have just another question: I can hear the old preset sound only after having copyed it on the USER Preset Kit.
Is there a possibility to play Factory TD-10 and TD-10 Exp. Presets before copy them on the User Area??

Just to be more clear: I would like to play my kit by using the old and the exp. Factory preset without using the USER area.

Tks for what you have already done (that is so much), you have saved me from spending money in buying useless memory cards.

No. You must copy to the user area.

Just to be clear - you cannot do this

You have 50 user kits. That is a lot of kits. Do you really have more than 50 kits that are so great you can't do without them? If you do, then perhaps a memory card is not so useless afterall.

An alternative to a memory card would be to save the files to your PC. You can do that for the cost of a cable. Read through VKitTrans posts. They helped me plenty. There is a lot of info in there. The software is not as quick or convenient as the memory card.
