  • Two HH controllers?

Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if you hooked up two variable HH controllers to the same HH input on a TD-8 (or TD-10) using a y-adapter? How would the module handle that?

I searched for this one on the message boards because I thought this came up before but I couldn't find it. Sorry if I missed it.

    Thanks Chris.

What if I wanted 3 HH controllers, each controlling their own pad? What's the minimum number of inputs/modules/TMC-6's I would need?

Theoretically, could I attached two y-adapters into a third y-adapter, then the third one into the module to give me 4 bass drums on one input?

Yes, we're talking monster kit here. Actually I'm getting close to getting my E's to spare the neighbors the pain of listening to my A's. I use 4 basses total. The "middle" two basses (2 & 3) are for your traditional double bass setup. The 4th bass is to my right, and the 1st to the left spaced such as to give me the same foot spread between basses 1 & 2, 2 & 3, and 3 & 4. Over 3 & 4 I use a mallet KAT with other "melodic" percussion, and over 1 & 2 I have an auxillary percussion section (woodblocks, timbales, rotos, etc.) Each "pair" of bass drums gets it's own HH as well (if the price gets out of control though I can settle for a single HH pad w/controller for basses 2 & 3, and two other foot triggers to give me the HH "chick" sound for pairs 1&2 and 3&4).

My band does a lot of Drumz jams (in the spirit of the Grateful Dead) and the lead guitarist will come over and we both jam on the monster kit. It's quite fun. If I switch to E's, I'm going to run out of inputs quick.

      Thanks again.

Primary module would be on the rack. Secondary module would be in an SKB Gig Rig, so no false triggering.

Yea, I know what false triggering is, I was just trying to address your statement:

"However, two modules attached to one rack potentially causes a host of other potential problems (like false triggering, etc).... "

Of course, my answer implies the same misunderstanding:

"Primary module would be on the rack. Secondary module would be in an SKB Gig Rig, so no false triggering."

So I guess we're both smokin' the wacky tabaccy.
