    Hi Danny,

Welcome to the forum! You'll have lots of fun with the TD8-KV.

The sequencer is not the best item on the TD-8... well actually, on any vdrums module! I would recommend using a software sequencer on your computer (I assume you have one, since you're posting here).

All you need is two midi cables and some software. If you have a PC, then Cubase Inwired from Steinberg is a good free tool that gives you the basics. You can download it from here

Hi, I'm new to this post but not new to the TD-8 as I have the V-Custom set. You can delete individual parts with the TD-8 sequencer.
While the sequencer is running in record mode, hold SHIFT and press REC. Now you are in realtime erase mode. Choose KIT then cursor down and choose NOTE. Hit the pad you want to erase (like the kick) and then press and hold the REC button to erase that part. It will only erase the part while you are pressing REC. This lets you "punch out" individual notes even.
      Hope this helps.

In my best Johnny Carson imitation: "I did not know that!"

Great tip. I thought you were outta luck if you wanted to erase specific notes in a sequence.

I am amazed at how unintuitive the sequencer is on the TD-8. I find it much easier to create and edit parts on my old HR-16 drum machine than on the TD-8. It's funny 'cos in all other respects I think the TD-8 interface rocks. There is a ton of functionality in just a few buttons and navigating to most common activities is a piece of cake!

OK, thanks for that! i can get rid of my f*ck ups now!! (I really should learn to play better) but its a useful one if you're creating some 'octupus drumming' loop.

I will be going the 'computer sequencing' path, but i'm gonna wait till I get a better computer (one at home is a p166) as i come onto this forum from work. I'm just trying to get my head round the td-8 at the moment, i'll soon be getting a little 6 channel mixer (behringer MX602a) for a few added effects etc and possible headphone jams with my local friendly bassist (he sort of persuaded me to get the V's in the first place - i never thought i'd be grateful to a bassist! *L*)

Although the td-8 is great for all the v-editing possibilities (there's almost too many for me!) i really would have liked some onboard effects. I guess i'll end up adding some outboard in the future. Or i guess lots of this can be done via. a computer? (albeit probably not as good?) I've never really used my computer for music before.

Once again, thanks for the help!
