  • Sampler Suggestions?

I may be needing a sampler in the near future and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for an *inexpensive* solution.

The group that I will be playing with doesn't have enough members to recreate all of their recorded parts (backing vocals guitar overdubs etc) live. What I hope to do is sample a few short phrases from the master (multi-track) recording of their CD and then trigger these samples in performance. The samples will be just a few seconds in length each. I don't foresee needing to loop these samples (if that makes any difference).

It looks like the Roland/Boss SP-303 will do what I want. Are there any better solutions? I am open to used stuff and old technology as long as it gets the job done and doesn't swallow all of my disposable income.
