  • Trigger my own samples.

Is there a way to record my accoustic drums, and then trigger them in an Edrum module type thing of some sort? That way I can sound the same (or at least close) as I do when I play my accoustic drums. I don't actually have any accoustic drums anymore, but I am going to get some, and I thought that it would be cool to be able to have the same sound on my Edrums as on my accoustics.

Yeah! I knew it had a name. Do you have to use a module or, can you use it by itself? Is it as fast at triggering as a drum module?

You'll need a Trigger to MIDI interface, Alesis D4,DM5, Yamaha TMI (cheap ones) or Roland/Yamaha Module with say Ddrum Redshot triggers on the drums.

If you just want to trigger sounds from a pad, maybe a used Roland Octapad,SPD-11 or a Drumkat.

While we're on the subject does anyone know of a good website that talks about samplers/loopers/arrangers and stuff like that? I'm interested in buying a keyboard that I can do stuff like dirty vegas or ministry but I have no idea of what I'm getting into.

OK for learning the worlsd of Midi percussion - cymbal sounds are weak but then this is one of the older Midi Modules now.

Would love a sampler or DMPro/TD-6 but module for my Zendrum but they can wait for nearer Christmas after I get to PASIC in Columbus,Ohio in November.

Where in Ireland are you from?

                        Yeah,
he's up near Derry I think. Change to V-drums? - well was impressed with TD-6 but will more than likely go with a Sampler and maybe a used Alesis DMpro as a backup. Keep things small.

Ray Fean (from Riverdance) did a clinic at Musicmaker earlier on V-drums so hope he'll be doing a few more.

yeh Robert's from Coleraine, anything drumwise cheap, am trying to get him into the electronic circus as well, he can get great prices.

Heard about Ray from Liam Bradley, nice guys and great players, will def try to get to the next demo.

Know Liam Bradley (who should still be out playing with Ronan Keating at the moment) but know Ray very well - I'll keep you posted on any Roland clinics.

just spoke to mmaker, nothing doin at the moment, roland don't seem intrested, pity. Does Ray know about the BBS, would he be willin to share his experience with the rest of us?
