  • CY-15R Opinion?

Hi. I just bought a TD-20 kit used. As many of you have experienced, the bell was not working on the cy-15r. I did the mod and it worked. Though i had to use a lot of material. Tape wouldn't work at all. I ended up using thick pieces of velcro. So now it works.

Here's my question for CY-15r owners? I found out the that the guy before me bought an extended warrantee through Guitar Center and it is still covered until March 1. I don't think that they would even open the thing up. It's a 3rd party company. If I sent it in I would be without a cymbal for 3-4 weeks and there is a very good chance that the next one would also need the mod right?

If you were me, would you leave well enough alone or would you send it in?

    thanks
    mc

If you had to use velcro, it is messed up. The fix is a tweak to make it more sensitive, not make it work at all. I would see if I could get it replaced.

Yes it was not working at all. I was also in the middle of rewiring my studio and needed to try something thicker just to see if I could get it to work. I saw the velcro and gave it a try and it worked. It does seem extreme though.

You're probably right, i should send it in

        Thanks
