so here is my beef, i just got a bunch a new hart ecymbals and they are built to withstand nothing. i have only had issues with the brand new 12in hihat and 12 crash my splash and crashes are fine). the hihats are all bent up around the rivits from them spining when i play and the 12 crash has started to bend where i hit it on the rubber surface. anyone else have issues with this? they are only 3 weeks old and i play with some pretty light sticks. i will try to get some pics next time im at the studio. i am pretty pissed since just got this stuff.

I'm like a broken record anymore:
What Kev said.
Hart has a lifetime warranty on their stuff so if you have a problem, call em and they'll take care of you.
And like Kev, I have a Hart HH but also a Hart ride. They get pounded regularly and are rock solid pieces of equipment.
TD-12, DTX502, SD1000, EZDrummer, Diamond Drum 12" snare, S1000 toms/cymbals/kick, PCY10/100/135/155, CY-5/14, Hart Ride, Hart Acupad 8" kick, Epedal Pro II, Concept 1 pads/cymbals, SD1000 & Roland V Sessions racks, PD-7, Kit Toy 10" splash, DMPad ride, SamplePad, PerformancePad Pro

Do the Harts come with dual zone chokable? I feel like there is some added realism when you can mix in edge and bow sounds on the crash cymbals. There's nothing mentioned in the descriptions. If not, why wouldn't they? Their drums are top notch and that seems like such a basic requirement, anymore, for a top level set.
Easy Cheapo gig set:

Wow srtrich I am shocked. I've been pounding away at my Hart metals for three+ years with Vic Firth Rock sticks and never had this problem. Definitely contact Hart.
Thebaron....this is the one drawback to the current Hart metal crash lineup. The answer is no. They are single-zone (chokable) only. Why? I have no idea why they did that. It personally doesn't bother ME that much, but as I have been goofing around with the dual-zones of my Smartrigger crashes, I've started to appreciate that feature more. I hope that Hart makes the dual-zone in the future.Last edited by Fullback32; 11-26-08, 09:48 AM.Hawk snare, toms, and bass; Hart ECII crashes & ride; VH-10 Hihat; Iron Cobra double-bass.

I'm with Fullback in hopes of a two-zone offering from Hart at some point.

Call Hart ASAP! The first 30 days they will replace them 100% free including shipping. After that you have to pay shipping.
I am surprised at your problem. I have had my kit for a year now and they are as solid as ever. Weird indeed.
I make sure I always hit them on the rubber. I am not too worried about dual zone crashes but that would be a nice feature for future ones.
I just smack my crashes and move on so one zone works fine. ii

I've got a couple dents in my hart hihat, nothing major. They did come from the cymbal rotating while I was hitting it. Will they really replace the cymbals if they dent? Maybe I'll send them mine.-Coop

I just wanted to add, I've gotten stick marks like you would on any cymbal, but never dents. Do you have any pics of these dents? I'm just curious to see that.Hawk snare, toms, and bass; Hart ECII crashes & ride; VH-10 Hihat; Iron Cobra double-bass.

A dent on a Hart HH? The damn thing is built like a tank.
I'm guessing you use a ball peen hammer as one "stick".
Really, the thing is bullet proof. Like FB, would ya mind posting a picture?

Dare I ask, where did you get these from? Is it possible they are knockoffs or fakes (unlikely I know)? It just seems so hard to imagine the kind of damage you describe right out of the box.
Any pics?Yamaha DTXPress IV Special -> PreSonus Firebox -> Superior Drummer 2.0 -> Sennheiser HD280Pro (headphones for practice)

As others have already stated, call Hart. I'm also a satisfied Hart user.

Roland TD-20, Hart Dynamics 7.6, 2 x PD-7, extra PD-7 and Hart Snare laying around, Vic Firth Dave Weckl signature sticks, Axis A-longboards double pedal, Sony MDR-CD780 headphones and not enough inputs.
