  • MIDI Problems

I just got a new Roland TD-3 setup and I'm trying to connect it to my computer for MIDI usage. I'm using the Midisport UNO MIDI to USB connector.

For some reason, the MIDI input wasn't being recognized, so I downloaded MIDI-OX to sniff what was going on. This is the result:

    Code:
    Opened MIDI Input
    000017ED 1 -- 80 0E 01 1 D 0 Note Off
    000025AB 1 -- 80 11 20 1 F 0 Note Off
    0000261A 1 -- 80 01 20 1 C#-1 Note Off

It's different each time. Each line above is the result of hitting the same pad.

I thought it was the USB cable, so I replaced it with another, but I'm getting the same result. I don't think it's my drum kit, because an M-Audio keyboard I have is causing the same results. I've tried starting the TD-3 with local control off with the same results. I've tried only connecting to the MIDI Out port on the TD-3 with no luck as well.

It's doing the exact same thing both on my XP laptop and on my Vista desktop.

I'm new to MIDI, so it's possible I'm just missing something. However, I've spent the past two and a half days on this and countless hours on Google and I'm out of ideas. Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome!

As the TD-3 doesn't have a sequencer with backing instruments, and doesn't send pitch bend, I don't think that MIDI output can really be coming from the module.

What wouldn't recognize the MIDI input before MIDI-OX?

    Sorry I don't have a real answer.
