help with kit toys, using a splitter

I have a TD-20 and I'm having some problems with my recently bought Kit Toys triggers.
The triggers are fine, but when I use a splitter, making one cymbal (Rim) and the other (Head) only the head cymbal will trigger properly. The (Rim) cymbal only triggers sometimes, if I'm lucky. I have 6 triggers in three inputs, and its the same story with every one.

I've tried mono/stereo cables, mixing up pads/cables, and different pad settings, but nothing seems to work.

I've included a picture of the splitter, if it helps.

You need to use Aux or Tom inputs with modified splitter cables, either DIY;

Sticky: Splitter for Dual Piezo inputs AKA TD-9, TD-12 or TD-20 Aux/Tom splitter Revisited

or purchased; Roland Head and Rim Splitters for Sale

as no standard splitter cable will allow the rim pad to trigger properly.
