Just wondering...I've remedied a couple problems by lowering crosstalk on my TD-8 lately. But it's making me wonder; in what situation would one have to raise crosstalk? I mean, when are you going to WANT triggers interfereing with or cancelling each other out? :-) Obvously there's more to this than I know about but I've only heard/read of it in terms of lessening a problem; not in terms of enhancing something. I guess I'm wondering why the settings aren't set permanently low at the factory y'know? Just curious. Thanks.

there are many different trigger/drum types out there.if the roland td-10(for example) was automatically set to handle just pd-120's.my hart snare would never sound a head shot without having a rim trigger sound.so the larger gate(window)you have the more variables you'll likely be able to adjust to.capiche?hope this helped.

What would a Y cable into multiple inputs have to do with cross talk cancellation between the rim and snare on the PD-120?

A mono Y cable may considered to be mono / mono / mono
An insert cable may considered to be TRS / mono / mono
A stereo Y cable may considered to be TRS / TRS / TRS

Sorry I'm confused.

If one uses a stereo Y cable for layering on a PD 120 then you would have one sound assigned to rim and one to snare, as one of the outputs would have to be from the snare and the other would have to be from the rim, would it not?

Is the issue cross talk between the snare and rim?
