  • Help plz with best budget double pedal

Hi all, next month i will buy my TD9 kit(not all mesh) and was looking around for a double kick pedal. The one i had years ago with my TD3 was an ebay one,it was ok but not as good as the dixon i used with my A's many moons ago.So what would you say is a great pedal at around $250 australian. Was getting another TD3 but my budget has increased a bit due to child support catching up with the ex wife(yes i have my son) so im getting a TD9 now and ill be getting some vex attacks and G.A.S im sure...lol.Thanks in advance guys.

    Dw 7002

The DW7002 is what I've been using. I really like it and the price wasn't too high. Since DW is in the process of getting rid of the 4000 line pedal, the 7000 line is now their low end. I use 4000 single pedals on my KD-7's. They work okay in that application but I've heard the 4002 double isn't as sturdy and well built as the 7002.

      Hi pluto3,

The Gibraltar pedals are not bad - under $200 I think - just a little bit wooden feeling. The Dixons probably feel a little better.

Have you considered getting another KD-8 (or KD-7) and another single pedal? You could get both for less than $250.....

          Doesn't that make the 5000-series their low-end?

As far as budget is regarded, don't know how much the Peal Eliminators are, I played a single once and really liked it. I think the Yamaha's are OK too. Don't know the prices though. Sure you don't want to "invest" in a pedal? After all, if it doesn't feel like it should, IMHO, it 'll never play like it should... Best thing might be to narrow your choice down and try them.

I bought the low end Pearl double bass set (S177.00 CDN). The action is very smooth and very fast. I was quite suprised to get it for this price.

I wound up getting this one

                Pearl-P122TW-Double-Pedal

I couldn't see or feel much of a differece from this model to the eliminator, however I also don't have great bass pedal technique so I'm sure somebody who has "a better touch" may feel the difference.

                cheers

Actually, until recently, the 5000 series were their high-end series, and have since been replaced with (succeeded by?) their 8000 and 9000 series. I'm not marketing so don't ask me why they pulled that one... I have the 7000 series and it works for me. Then again, it's the first pedal I've had.

But I think the order is 7000, 5000, 8000, 9000... But I could be wrong.
