Have you tried setting it up according to the Hart Dynamics settings?

Yes I have that sheet printed out and I went in and already made those changes. That is why I am confused. I get a rim shot in the middle of my snare. kinda confusing.:DComment

Try reducing RimShot Adjust for those pads at TRIGGER, ADVANCE (F5), RIM (F2):
"RimShot Adjust: 0–8.0
There are some cases that you have a rim sound unexpectedly when you hit the head strongly. You can improve this situation with decreasing the value of “RimShot Adjust.” * When you set the value too small, it might be difficult to play the rim sound."
(TD-20 manual, Page 49.)

i tried both and neither worked. I called Binky at hart dyn. and we think it is the cable. I will experiment more tonight. I am going to take all the cables off and see what happens. I will try one cable at a time.:DComment

I have done that as well. It is either the cable, the drums, or the module. hmmm. i just got them a week ago.:DComment

That sounds quite unusual. Reducing RimShot Adjust didn't have any effect on this problem?
Are you sure it's a rim sound and not just a suddenly loud head sound from a hit directly over the foam/trigger? You could try separating the head and rim sounds with F5 (H & R) and then assign some really different sound to the rim temporarily to make sure.

no it didnt. I know it is the rim shot because i turned the rim shot on and it changed the sound of the click that i am getting. I am getting it on my floor toms too. i dont think it is the drums. i think it is the module.:DComment
