Right on peircer! It is a real quality cymbal and you can bang away at it just like an acoustic...as I'm sure you've already found out! Congrats on that purchase.

I think that's one reason Hart gear offers a lot of appeal to those who have a background with acoustic drums. Most of it is pretty beefy stuff. It's heavy and FEELS like a lot of the a-kit gear. I was moving my Hart snare around the other day and was reminded of just how heavy that darned thing is. Same certainly goes for the metal cymbals.

    Enjoy your new toy!

Congrats on that Hart ECII ride. A very good choice indeed. After you get it going, I'm sure you'll see why so many of us Hart players rave about that ride.

Man, that sucks. I wonder if it's faster getting Roland stuff in Japan?

I hope so, I ordered it from RMC audio and it said 2-3 days.

I finally converted some A cymbals with kits from JMan, I'd been avoiding it because it looked like it'd take hours to do, but it took about 20 minutes each, super easy, worked great the second I plugged it in. Of course with those two cymbals added, and with the Hart ride coming in a few days, I'm out of cymbal mounts... Darn. Guess I'll have to get one more mount.

Dual zone is one trigger for the whole cymbal, with some clever trickery in the module, dual trigger is just that, separate piezos' for bell and bow. More accurate triggering.

That mod is why I don't want to try the Yamaha 3 zone, I've heard nice things about their 2 zones as a crash though.

What do you mean by dual trigger vs dual zone? Do you mean pizeo/pizeo vs pizeo/switch?

I think I'm leaning towards a Hart ride or a Cy-15, but I wish I could try them out first... Anyone used both before and have reasons why one's better than the other?

Not without several modifications, as it uses a single jack for all three zones: Yamaha PCY150S Ride Cymbal Roland Conversion

Hart, because it is dual trigger, not just dual zone. I'm waiting for mine (still) but that's the reason I went for it, plus it looks ace!
