  • Buying a Hart drum rack?

I'm looking to replace my DIY kit, as it has lasted me a good two years but is on the verge of dying. Since I have several components already I don't need to buy a whole kit, but I can't find the Hart racks for sale anywhere. Does anybody know where you can buy just a Hart rack? Or, failing that, what is the best rack for holding Hart-style toms? I currently have a Roland TD-6 rack but the clamps don't seem correct for Hart (plus Hart drums are HEAVY and I'd constantly worry about the clamps spinning).

Yep...check with RMC Audio. They carry Hart rack parts. Personally, and I'm a Hart player, I use Gibraltar. Brilliant stuff.

Thanks for the reply - can you suggest a specific Gibraltar rack, and what (if any) accessories might be necessary to mount a Hart tom on such a rack?

      Thanks.

Any basic Gibraltar rack will do. Hell, I use a red V-sessions rack. The tubes are all the same size and I still even get away with using the craptastic Roland plastic clamps for my Hart toms.

That being said, a Gibraltar or Hart rack will be a helluva lot more robust.

I see that RMC in the "drum racks" section doesn't have Hart racks. They do have the Roland racks and a couple of bare-bones Gibraltar racks. That being said, who knows, perhaps they'll sell a Hart rack. For info on those from the Hart site:

TD-12, DTX502, SD1000, EZDrummer, Diamond Drum 12" snare, S1000 toms/cymbals/kick, PCY10/100/135/155, CY-5/14, Hart Ride, Hart Acupad 8" kick, Epedal Pro II, Concept 1 pads/cymbals, SD1000 & Roland V Sessions racks, PD-7, Kit Toy 10" splash, DMPad ride, SamplePad, PerformancePad Pro

I have a complete Hart kit, including the rack. The only disadvantage is that it isn't curved. Well, disadvantage... I could set it up to my needs like it would be with a curved rack. You're sure you wouldn't prefer stands? If I were to start over again, I think I would seriously consider them... I guess the one has his advantages over the other and vice versa.

We don't have Hart racks for sale by themselves and I'll tell you why. You can pick up a similar Gibraltar from us for less and the clamps are better in my opinion. We don't currently list all of the Gibraltar racks but we can get any of them.

Erik, Sorry about stating that you guys sold complete Hart racks. I misstyped and have corrected it above. It should have said "Hart rack parts" not "Hart rack and parts".

              FlamThrower:

For what its worth, these are the parts I use to build my rack. I did not buy a whole rack, but rather upgraded mine a few pieces at a time.

You can get whole Gibraltar racks though if that's the route you choose to go.

Cool, thanks guys - I was mainly worried that my TD-6 rack won't hold the Hart toms. Those things are made of heavy metal, and my rack has a hard time keeping my half-shell DIY kit in position. Although I have read that if you use drawer liner or some other tacky substance on the inside of the clamp, it helps matters.

So right now all I need to do is find a good deal on 2 10" Hart toms, a 12" Hart tom, and a pro kick :-D

                    k-rokk,

Did the sale of those Acupads fall through? If so, I'd be interested. PM me with details.

                    Thanks,

                    Frank.
