  • Kick of Roland HD-1

Hi guys. I'm a neo drummer ( i bought my first drum set, a Roland HD-1, at easter of 2008), and i have a problem...
When i bought the HD-1 i've no realized how pedals are hard, so now, when i started to study faster beats i can't play all kicks.
So my questions are...Am I the only one that consider so hard and that can't play Roland HD-1 kick? Maybe have I broken it (I have this doubt because hi-hat pedal is not so difficult to play fast)? Or maybe is it only dirty inside? If it's that how can i clean it?
I'm sorry for my bad English, i'm Italian, so answer me with an easy english pleese
    Bye!

Anyone with an HD-1 able to comment about response of the kick pedal for faster playing?

      Hi Hero,

Have a look a the video at this link http://www.rolandcorp.com.au/Demos/HD1/sounds.html to see what is possible with the HD-1 pedals. Specifically the double bass section 1 minute into the video.
If you can't get the pedals react like this you are either no Johnny Rabb or there is something wrong with your HD-1.

      Succes!

Yeah, i think too that there's something wrong with my right pedal, because the left one works well, and this video is a confirmation, but i would to know if to anyone was happenned the same thing...
I admit that sometimes i've used the pedal hardly but not overdoing and I've never used it in an unfitting way...
Anyone bought Roland HD-1 and can give me an opinion?
        Thanks to both for answers
        Bye!

Get a KD-8 and make a mesh head out of it. Then you got a proper kick. Uses same cable.

You just attach it to the HD-1, like this:

                              Hi,

I have a HD1 and both pedals work the same. You shouldn't have a pedal harder than the other. You might go to you seller for guaranty...
