A several months ago both of the edge sensoring on the cy-14c pads, and sometimes the bow doesn't always trigger 100%. I donated my cy-8's to replace the Cy-14c on our TD-10 kit. I brought them home with me tonight to see if I could some how fix them. How do I get the CY-14C apart so that I can look at the pizeo and sensor in the CY-14C. These CY-14C are way out of warranty so I can't send them to Roland to have fixed. I have a few Hart acoustic drum trigger laying around that I could use the piezos from them to replace the ones not working in the CY-14C. Can anyone help me out. Thanks.

Hey RB, there might be pixie dust under the rubber.. choking the cymbal. You have to take the pins out and gently lift the rubber up and wipe the strip. Do a search for "pixie dust" if you need more info. If you remove the bottom screws on the backside you can get to the piezo but this should be a last resort imo.

I took it apart and there was no dust. I did find the problem why there is no edge sensor for choking. The strip for the edge sensoring that is connected to the board for the output of the cy-14c on both of them has been come lose so looks like it just needs to be resoldered back on. This might be the problem that alot of vdrummers are having with no choking on their cy-14c. Our drummers comes from punk, rock, metal drumming so he hits the cymbal pads really hard. I bet at one time the strip sensors came loose and fell of resulting of him hitting them hard. I am going to try and go over to my brother in laws house tomorrow night and see if he can resoldered the edge sensor strip back the output board. Have a attached a picture so you know what I am talking about. If this is the problem then the CY-14C are fixed.Attached FilesDrummer 4 Him,

Yea, that's why i said last resort, if you pull too hard, that strip comes off. I had one like that and I'm pretty sure i pulled it off when i took it apart. I shoved it back in and used double sided tape to hold it on but that didn't do it. Let us know if you have any success soldering it.www.myspace.com/tongueingrooveTd 20 Purple Fade V Session Cy15, 2x Cy14, Cy8, Asi+ Crown k2 amps, BBE max.
