  • Yamaha RHH135 Hi hat to replace VH-11

Does anybody know if the yamaha RHH135 hi hat can replace the VH-11 on a Roland TD9kx/sx?

I'm concerned about functionality of the RHH135. Basically if I plug it into the TD9 will it work like the VH-11?

    Thanks

I'm leaning towards no. -At least not out of box. You'd have to use a convertor "device" of some type I "think". (PLEASE Note I am not 100% sure.)

There used to be a way to convert the older Yammie hihat to work with Roland modules and I think you'd still have to do that.

I know the guys over at RMCAudio tested some of the the Yamaha cymbals to see if they were compatible with Roland modules though.

Give them a call or shoot them a PM here..I'm sure they'd be willing to try it out, or possibly have already.

Yeah you have to use the stereo-to-mono adapter, in your case you put it in the hh ctrl on the module. I'm sure RMCAudio will have few of these adapters lying around so mention this while you're at it.... and tell us the verdict
