  • TD8 Mix In problem.

    Hi,

I got my new TD8 module yesterday, and played with it a couple of hours setting it up and hearing the sounds etc. Then this morning i went to play a song off my phone, like i did on the TD3, but i can't get any sound from the mix in.

I have a 1/8" jack cable going to a 1/8"-1/4" jack converter which then goes in the mix in on the TD8. I have the mix in volume knob turned right up.

I have tryed using my computer as an input source instead but still no sound, and i also tried using a different 1/8" cable and also a different converter but still no sound. I'm 100% the cables and converters all work!

I hope i'm missing something really obvious here, but after checking the TD8 manual i couldn't see anything.

Does anyone have any idea what it is? Or do you think i have been sold a slightly duff module?

    Danny.

On a TD-8, "Signals from MIX IN are always sent to the MASTER OUTPUTS and headphones"; so I don't think you're missing anything obvious on the module, and it does seem possible the module is defective. But that would be fairly unusual.

The cable and size converter are quite definitely stereo?

Do you monitor only through headphones, not master output(s), and do you also use a size converter there?

The cable and converter are exactly the same from my phone, as the ones to my headphones. I actually used the converter i'm using for the headphones and swapped them around. Headphones still worked and Mix in still didn't. Then i tryed a couple of different cables that were going from 2.0 speakers from PC and another spare. This also doesn't solve it.

So yeah i am sure it has nothing to do with those. It can only really be the module. All 3 knobs are full whack - master, headphones and mix in. I put all of my sliders on the front full whack also.

Another thing to note - you know when you plug something in to an audio input, and then tap the other end's jack with your finger, you get this kind of hum noise. Well that doesn't happen.

Definetly can't get this working. Guess i'm gonna have to buy an external mixer. Anyone want to recommend one? Just a couple of inputs, 2-4. Don't want to loose any quality of sound.

hate to bump an old thread but i'd rather bump an old one than get told to search... i hate that..

anyways, im having the same problem. adapter on headphones jack, that works. put the same adapter on mix in, plugged in my iphone, nothing.

tried looking on the online manual but it skips pages for some reason, so i couldn't find ANYTHING on the mix in function.

          any solutions?

MIX IN only gets a couple of very brief mentions in the TD-8 manual on Pages 17 and 45. (You are also using a TD-8 module, right?)

Sometimes the tip/ring/sleeve on cheap size adapters does not line up well with the those on the cable or input. I can only suggest pulling the adapter or cable out a tiny bit in case that works.

              I'm also having this issue:

Trying to plug my iphone to my TD-8 MIX IN with 1/8TRS to 1/4TRS cable.

No sound at all. It's driving me mad!

A proper one-piece 1/8 to 1/4 cable? No size adapters?

Does the cable work OK somewhere else?
