  • Yamaha triggers with Roland module?

I'm just wondering if this combination works. As in does it work full stop, can you physically play a yamaha cymbal or hihat on a roland module? If yes, are their limitations of any kind?

I have just bought a yamaha 15" ride. I plan on using it first with my TD3 and then eventually to upgrade to a TD12 and utilise all three zones. Is this ok?

Also i'm really interested in the hihats yamaha make. Both the RHH 130 and RHH 135 look good, and are just so much cheaper than the VH 11 and 12. Will these work ok with the said modules, and how do you guys think they compare to the Roland equivelants?

Any and all info on this subject is welcome because i can't seem to find hardly any.

    Thanks guys,

    Danny

Well i got the PCY155 yesterday and am very pleased. It works great. It makes an edge sound when i hit the bell area at the moment, but my TD3 doesn't support triple zone so i guess thats expected.

Still unsure about the RHH135. I'm more confident now, but if someone else has first hand experience it would be good. Just want to be sure i'm safe before i purchse.

The crashes (PCY135) should work exactly the same as a CY14...not sure about the rest though...

      Keep us posted bro!

Yeah i agree the cymbals are nice. I will probably replace my cy-8s with a couple of pcy135s considering how cheap an upgrade it is. Cy-8s are just so stiff!

So would you guys assume that if the cymbals work great - the hihats will be the same? Or is that a dangerous assumption to make lol

            DANGEROUS!!

You'll need a stereo to mono adapter...otherwise it's all good.
