  • TDW-20: Upgraded the Mondor

I finally got the TDW-20s installed on the Mondor. It was one of the easiest upgrades I have ever done.

I haven't given them a full workout yet, but so far everything is imporessive. Except for the factory Kits, which suck.

I am having fun making Taiko Kits. and playing around with all the new expanded sounds. I will keep you posted.

If anyone wants to buy one of my "collector" Roland Screwdrivers, let me know!

Factory Kits are really lame. The expanded sounds are very nice though,
and 100 kits and 100 backups is great. It's really nice to be able to use
the one card and just cycle through all kits!

P.S. I have a Roland Chainsaw for sale that you could use on your tree!

I have to agree the Factory kits are not so good. I have installed the card Last night and have not loaded the Vex kits yet, will the Vex kits sound any different on the new card?

Also I am looking forward to the new kits from Vex for the new card!!

Well, factory kit #1 called TDW20 sounds better than any of the Vexpressions. If tweaked, it sounds even better.

I guess my expectations were so high that I was slightly disappointed in the overall sounds that are on the new board. I like that the overall playability is MUCH better! Not having any time to tweak and experiment with the new card, I am looking forward to the new vex kits that will provide me and others an easy way to get the full potential out of this new upgrade. If you would be so kind to share your tweaked kit # 1, that would be grand! I would be glad to pay for your time.

          Cheers!

I agree, that kit rocks with my blues band, I pitched up the snare +20 and use in a four piece setup, I think that snare rocks. I played it this pass weekend with the band and they love the sound of the kit. I `m sure the Vexs boys will do some good stuff too, but the TWD-20 does have some very good kits that can be setup to work with a good bit of music out of the box.

Unless I'm missing something, isn't that what the VEX guys already do? Edit the "stock" sounds on-board the module? It was my understanding that they aren't creating anything you can't with the stock-standard vdrum kit...

True, but they now have 300 new sounds to work with thanks to the expansion card.

So, what's the breakdown? How many of what instruments?

I didn't spend that much time on tweaking the kit.......And it is only one kit I've done. I can give it to you.

How much more off could it be? The answer is none, none more off.

So if it can be more off, can it be moron as well? And if that is right on, then what's left on?
