  • TD-10 + V-Cymbal Flight Case NEWS UPDATE! (x-post from General)

    Hi fellow TD-10 owners.

    Today is a sad day.

I wrote a few months ago saying that I had spoken to a rep from Roland UK who told me that she was in development of a new TD-10 Flight case that also housed the V-Cymbals.

It was to be released this month and was going to be demoed at the Summer Namm.

Well I just got an email from her: Below is her words and then my response to her.

I AM VERY ANGRY ABOUT THIS AND I URGE ALL OF YOU TO WRITE TO HER AND LOG YOUR PROTEST AND YOUR REQUEST THAT THEY CHANGE THEIR DECISION

    Her email is: [email protected]

      Hi Boingo!

Hey man I'm STILL using your kit almost exclusively - I've changed the cymbals a few times and now I've got 5 versions of it in my TD10.

I think you need to submit it to Roland for the next patch!

To answer your questions I'm moving house (alot), I'm also starting to 'rehearse / jam' with people with a view to gigging (Arrghh! My first band! )

And I'm also trying to 'sub' myself out to a local recording studio for their session drummer for any bands / groups that need a drummer for a quick recording.

So I need this baby like NNNOOOOWWW !!!!

      Arrhhh....feel better now..

        Hi Maverick

First of all let me say how refreshing it is to see another woman here at the forum.

Especially one who can open up and vent her anger with the use of words. This is so rare these days - usually it is the men who are so in touch with their feelings that they can express them even when in the throes of strong emotions. Just kidding. Hey, I think it is cool that you feel comfotable enough here to let it rip!

As far as the flight case thing...Screw 'em! They just saved you $500.00, the way I see it. You can make perfectly good cases from other commercially available sources for a small fraction of the price.

If you think of it that way, that you have a budget of $500.00 which you are ENTITLED to and MUST spend, then you can have your case(s) and some extra pads, or better headphones, or a new double pedal, or a bottle of single-malt to celebrate your first gig!

I bolted wheels to a large ice chest and I am very happy with the result. I tied a rope to one of the handles and just pull it as I skip along, whistling a happy tune. Lots of other ideas on cases floated here too.

        Best regards,

          Flightcase for V-Session

          Hey man,
I totally agree with u. I am in the same situation. I own a V-Session kit and am looking for a flightcase for it for months now and I don't seem to get any help. the dealers over here suck.
I have a TDW-1 and need to upgrade it to TDW-1+V-cymbals and can't do that either.
Roland does that all the time. They bring out a product and after a few months bring out a upgraded model or discontinue a model.
          It just pisses me off.

If you get in touch with an actual case company they can help you pick the sizes you need and custom cut the foam inserts. People have this done all the time. Is London case company still around? Its been awhile. As far as Roland gearing down Vdrum production. if you want longevity, buy a Drumkat, or get involved in the Event Station program.

Hey! When I'm in the "throes of emotion" I'm not thinking about V-Drum travel cases
