  • TD-20: Xstick (Cross-stick) HELP!

    hi all,

just got my TD-20 up and running a couple days ago and am loving it. i have a question regarding the Xstick. is there a way to adjust the volume level of that sound independently? it seems VERY weak compared to the rest of the kit. also, i notice that i have to press the Xstick button on the TD-20 to get the sound that i am after. where is that sound located in the bank of the sounds in the module? i would like to assign it to another pad or aux trigger.

    thanks in advance,

    troy

Use FUNC (F2), VOLUME (F1), and increase XStick Volume at the bottom of that screen. It's an individual setting for each kit.

(You can also get to the same screen from MIXER, KIT VOL (F4).)

The sounds normally used for cross stick on the snare rim are the even numbers from 72 to 90, which also do rim shots too with velocity switching. But there's also a group of cross stick only sounds from 127 to 141 which would be better for a dedicated cross stick pad.

Hmm, not sure. I'm not in the same place as my module at the moment so I can't compare sounds. Sounds trashy like a large metal garbage can, with a lot of reverb.
Would snare 105 Cruddy1 or 106 Cruddy 2 get anywhere close? With a fairly deep reverb or big room ambience?
