  • hart vs roland snares

    hi

I've been thinking to buy the hartdynamics 13' pro snare to upgrade my td-6kw kit but i've been wondering:

1.Would this work with the roland td-6v module (do i need to do any settings)
2.Should i prefer the roland pd-125 snare (both cost about the same but the roland is 12')
3.I've heard that hart give a more realistic sound. Is this true
4.if i get the hart do i need a special stand or it works with the roland rack?

could u recommend an e-shop for hart in europe?

    thanks

ps.i just want to say thanks to all the folks in here not only the ones that reply but to everyone for the great ideas and information they give to all the vdrums newbies like me

    Search engine !

The search engine will answer all your questions. Heaps of good info to be found. I was considering the hart snare but was put off by stories of the heads stretching, so I went with the pd120...

The Hart does not give a more realistic sound. The sound comes from the module, not from the pad.

E-shop for Hart in Europe? Yes. Simon Fergusson (Flurbs on this forum).

IMHO, the Hart has a more natural feel than the Roland. Maybe the fact that it's a 13" snare adds to that realism?

13" snare might add to that. The heads are the real difference.

Roland mesh is bouncier than Hart. I actually prefer that bounciness on a snare, thus, use a Roland head on a Pintech snare and Hart heads on Hart Accupads.

Bottom line: this is really personal preference.
