  • TD 12 Noob here

Let me first start by saying hello and its awesome to have a place like this!

This is basically my first post and I am new to electronic drums (in fact I haven't played any drums for quite some time).

I was wondering how to get real songs that I see a lot of you playing along with where the drum tracks have been removed so you can play along with your own drums. Basically I would like to play along with some old 80's rock songs but naturally the one's I have all have drums included on the track. I figured I need the song on CD where I can play it through my computer to the TD 12 module or from an ipod to the module but I need the drum tracks removed.

Any thoughts on where I can find some songs to play along with? Right now I just play with the pre-installed patterns on the module but I'm looking for real songs with vocals.

Any help? It would be GREATLY appreciated and I apologize for being a noob and probably asking a relatively stupid question.

    Hi, welcome aboard.

You will find a lot of helpful people around here. I think you can download some drumless tracks from Roland's website, but I can't recall the address. All I know is that I did download some from them at one point. You can probably also find them on various drumming-related web sites, but maybe someone else here has a link???
Ask not whether something is useful -- ask what it is useful for.

Roland TD-12, Iron Cobra hihat stand and bass-drum pedal from TAMA. My accoustic kit is a Yamaha Power-V Birch with Paiste Alpha-series splashes, crashes, and hihat. My ride is a Zildjan Ping Ride, 20" I think.
