  • TD-9SX or TD9S

Hey all. I've decided ont he Roland over the any other kits and I am interested in the TD-9. It looks to be a good entry level setup for me. I see that music123 has the price for the TD-9SX at $2095 and that seems to be the best price around. Does anyone know of a better price?

Also the VST kits seem to be made for the TD-9S and not the TD-9SX. Do you believe the kits would still work just fine on the TD-9SX or not?

    Thanks in advance!

You probably mean VEX kits instead of VST kits, right? VEX kits are presets you load into your TD module and VST are software based plug-ins for sequencers (and software like that) to use on a PC or Mac.

I have a TD-9KX (known TD-9SX in the USA) and the VEX work perfectly. Just make sure you have your pad/triggers settings correct.

I guess you're from the USA? I can't help you on a good price there, the TD-9KX goes for EUR 1849 (or $2735) in The Netherlands.

I'm not sure where you are seeig the $2095 price at music123 for the TD-9SX - I'm showing $2499.99. Am I missing something here?

Also, while I think rmcaudio is a GREAT place to shop and a price leader, they do not have any kits in stock at the moment. Not sure if that factors into your decision, but just an fyi.

Call RMC Audio on Monday and ask them when they will have the kit you want in stock. If no luck try BPM Music www.bpmmusic.com They also have excellent prices but I have never ordered from them. But I have heard good things about BPM

Music123.com has it as $2095 in their catalog they sent me and they've stated they would honor it plus take of some down to $2032. Would this be considered a good deal? Do you think I can get it at a lower price?

And yes I did mean VEX kits.

                thanks

Music123 said free shipping and no tax. So $2032 total. Good deal or not?

That's a good deal - no doubt about it. Cheapest I found was RMC but that's within $35 of their price and they didn't have it in stock. I'm very interested in that pricing as well as I'm purchasing my kit next week. How did you get that catalog?

In the mail. Just give Catalog# 808Z and you're good to go. Ask them to give a discount on top. It appears the phone sales reps can give a small percentage off. That's how it came to $2032. So catalog price on page 108 is $2095.

Thanks Buckeye - got them to honor the price and placed my order today as well. Been shopping it and just couldn't find one in stock. Thanks for the tip and good luck with your purchase decision! Now if I only could find a deal on the Trick Pro-1V Big Foot pedal... $349 seems to be the 'standard' with not any deals to be found...

Yea I think I'm going the cheap route on the pedal at first. Going to get the Iron Cobra Jr. single pedal that runs for $62.00 from Music123. Anyone have one of these or any issues. All reviews I've read give it a good review. And when I'm ready for a double bass then I'll look at a good quality upgrade.
