Dumb question about throne

As said, a rather dumb question: I have a Mapex throne of 4 months old and I notice it squeaks and also tilts about 1/2" from front to back and left to right. Is this normal?

I tried WD-40 but that didn't make any difference to the squeaking and fastening all knobs only prevent my throne from spinning (why would I want to spin during playing? I don't have a 360 degree setup.) but it didn't stop the tilting. As I checked, it seems to be that the (boy, the technical terms are difficult in English) the pin (or 'spie' as we Dutch would say) which is used to attach the seat to the metal vertical tube has too much slack (?, we call it 'speling'). So I can't use a drum key to fasten it.

i have a brand new Tama here.... with 3 legs that all have 2 bars for extra support... i weigh around 81 kilo and it squeeked from the first moment i took a seat on it

Same here: 3 double braced legs. And I weigh about 77 kilo.

that depends on which series throne you have..... it can be coal you are sitting on.. or a big diamond

I weigh 125 kilos and my throne doesn't tilt or squeek. I use a Roc-n-soc nitro.

Well, maybe my throne is a 'Monday morning' one. I'll give the dealer a call. I'm afraid if I go back to the store (about a 45 minute drive), I'll come back with much more than a new throne!
