  • TD-8 UK power supply

Local pawn shop has a TD-8 brain for sale, but it has no power supply. Any ideas where to get hold of one? 9v regulated 600mA supply, from the back of the box!

And will I notice a big difference if I upgrade my TD-3 brain to a TD-8?

    thanks for any help

As for the upgrade from a TD3 to a TD8 the change is light night and day!. You should not hesitate as you will not believe how much of a difference there is..

As for the PSU, it will be easy to find one.. CPC (www.cpc.co.uk) will be able to supply something, but any 9v 600mA supply will be OK.. Just be careful with the polarity! Try Ebay also! Just search for "9v DC PSU"

The only problem you will have is 'testing' it.. How will you know if it works? Will they offer a guarantee... Out of interest, how much are you paying?

I managed to get my TD8 for £270 and sold my TD3 for £140 and I thought I did well..

Its safe to assume that you will get £100+ for your TD3, so what are you paying for your TD8?

      As for Ebay, try here:

      This is a 600mA one:

      &_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

      or a 1.6A:

Either would be fine, although if anything, the 1.6A would be safer since you won't be driving it as hard.. Saying that, I don't believe that that the TD-8 draws 600mA anyway, so the 600mA would be equally fine.

Should get the TD_8 for 200 quid with a month's guarantee

Sounds like its a no brainer upgrade.

        Ta for the advice
