  • Vexpressions for TD 12

    Hi,

I'm seriously considering purchasing one of the VEX packs since I've heard so many people rave about em. I have a TD12 module but I play with two crashes and a splash. Will the TD12 package work with this or do I need to purchase a TD20 pack? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

While the TD-12 version will work, it would be wise to go with the TD-20 pack for many other reasons. It offers many more instruments to map to your setup and future expanded setup. It also offers a fourth tom that the TD-12 packs do not that will allow you to "expand" here in the future. Ultimately, if you ever move up to a TD-20, you'll already be prepared for that as well.

Keep in mind that you need VDrumLib to use the TD-20 versions with a TD-12.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
    Alan

So if I have a TD-12 I can just go ahead and buy any of the VEX packs for the TD-20 and they will work just fine? Sorry for the newbie question but all this is new to me. Thanks

Yes, u just convert the TD20 pack to Td12 pack and save, it gives you the extra tom no 4. It does state this on Vexpressions too, saying if you are a Td12 owner and want the Td20 features click here and go to those pages.

I did just that with the 50 top drummers and it's great as i added an extra tom on the kit.

If you have VDrumLib, yes. Select "TD-12" in the drop down in VDL, drag and drop the TD-20 version in the left window, remap to match your setup, save the new sysex and transfer it to the module. You can do advanced settings like copying "setup data" from your own personal backup and copying in only the VEX kits to keep personal pad tweaks and settings too.

To add to what Alan and Daveybabes said, here is a link with step by step instructions that show you how to convert TD-20 kits so that they can be loaded into a TD-12:
