There are some people on here who have purchased some hi hats I think.

Yeah, so I´ve read. But I was interested in reading opinions from those who´ve also bought drums from Field.
And I see the company hasn´t started selling hihats again.

I bought a hihat, and .... am disappointed I must say. A lot of false triggering, no consistent rim/bow triggering. I put my vh12 back on.

No experience with drums. I think the hihat is one of the hardest things to get right.

Sorry to hear. Hope the guarantee covers your troubles.

I hope you got the old version of hi-hat... he renewed his way of installing the triggers now. Didn't he offer to fix your hi-hat for free or did you just leave it because of the shipping cost? Sending it back sucks I know but since you already have it.. might as well as give it another go?

Kevin, are the new hats not as good as the old?

It's just what I've heard from others. So they must be better, or so I hope. He's still working on the VH-12 like hi-hat but if you want a regular hi-hat configuration like Harts and Smartriggers, he can make them for you.

I'll post my review when I get my set..

Makes ya wonder how they make a living if nobody here has purchased the actual drums It must be a fairly good set up to offer so many different colours and options, must be selling them somewhere ? i know Roland recently canned them over the mesh head issue so they're using mylar now, that's gotta be noisy yeah?

I don't think that's the case at all, if you read his purchase page it says 2-4 weeks for drums. So definitely a one man hand made job. Plus as someone who just entered the e-drum market he should be able to offer a diverse number of products to take attention from us drummers.

Where did you get the info about Roland preventing Field to stop mesh head drum production?

BTW he has added china to his cymbals page now, that must be a pic taken from a china in my order !
