Vex TD12 Kits? help me choose and 20 to 12 option?

Hi

Top 50 Drummers series or Studio kits ? ...

I already have the Acoustic Vex packages which are great.

Now i'm wanting something that's good to go without much tweaking so i can play along to MP3's (yep i'm a lazy bugger he he) load and go

There's just so many to choose from sooo it's between the Top 50 Drummers series or Studio kits, can't afford both cos i want a cowbell and stand ha ha. If u have any of these 2 packs can u tell me what they are like before i break out the card of doom?

Also would the 20 to 12 option benefit me? i will be filling up the 2 aux inputs on my TD12 but can't grasp what it's about.

Tough decision. I'd actually say the Top 50 series and the Producer's Pack. (which has the Master Picks and Studio series') While the MP's are not "produced" kits, they are favorites of our customers and I think you'd be wise to get them in the combo.

However, you have a budget, so I'll let the customers help out...

The 20 version files will give you a 4th tom and additional aux cymbals you can use for expanded kits. The TD-12 version only has the default setup. You would need VDrumLib to take advantage of the 20 version. It can custom map the instruments to your setup on command.

As stated, go for the TD-20 version and use VDL to map to your kit (I have this on my 12). I do not have those kits so I will not comment on them. I think the Top 50 series is my next pack though.

The Top 50 kits are great is you want to sound like those players. The reproductions are masterful. If you like many different brands, Master Picks is the way to go. There is a little something for everyone there.

Hi, will be using them for a china as i do now and a cowbell which i'm getting next week, no plans for a future TD20, will slot in an extra tom if i can make the space (juggling) sooo if it's at no extra cost i will get the TD20 Vex pack.

Hey Dave, they are NOT the same price. The TD-20 packs cost a tad bit more than the TD-12 packs. Also, the TD-20 packs cannot be loaded directly into your TD-12. You need to convert them to TD-12 format with VDrumLib, first.

So it's an extra $10 for the TD20 Top 50 Players ...

Well if i chose the Td12 Vex pack does that mean that i can't have that extra tom? if yes is it cos the TD20 kits cater specifically for toms 1-2-3-4 ? and the TD12 doesn't?

With the preset Td12 patches i can have any sound on the aux inputs so is it different with a vex pack? a Td12 vex just has toms 1-2 and 3?

I just got the Drummers Dream and have yet to go through the other nine packs but I'm loving what I am hearing so far and, as Alan has already mentioned to me, I have barely scratched the surface so far!!

There's quite a few kits I really like in this pack. So far, my faves are - Phil Collins, Terry Bozzio, John Bonham, Tommy Lee, Jeff Porcaro, Morgan Rose, Stewart Copeland, Mike Portnoy, Bernard Purdie and Dave Weckl.
You are correct with the time but I'm not up early...... I am STILL AWAKE!!! ie, not been to bed yet!!!!

ps - is Titania a Russian name?

Titania is from Greek Mythology and means 'Daughter or the Titans' .... and is also from Shakespeare.

Just got the TD20 Top 50 Drummers

Just uploaded all the kits and i must say it is fantastic

Now i can just plug and play. Snare has come to life too.

Works out at $75 and that's just £38 - less than £1 for each super duper kit. Yes i think u can tell i'm pleased.
