TD 12 Tom Settings

My first experience with drums is the TD 12. I am having lots of fun with them but since it is my first experience, I don't know what the toms should sound like.

I have found many snare and cymbal sounds I like and have been playing around with the hi-hat, but I can't seem to find a tom sound I like, especially when they are played through an amp.

I have settled on the birch and I kinda like the fiber and oak, but......

Yes, I played with the shell depth, muffling, head tuning. Have not messed with the EQ or Compression.

Can anyone tell me their favorite settings or set up settings that I can try?

Go to custom kits and download the user kits. That should help some.

Do you mean the kits that come with the module? I've listened to all of them and don't hear anything magnificent.

No, vdrummer20 means go to this forum: http://www.vdrums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=41 and look for some custom kits created by other users. Unfortunately in order to download them to your module you will need a Midi->USB adapter like the M-Audio MidiSport Uno or Edirol UM-1EX .

Yes, and then you will pick up a Vex kit. Save yourself the time and aggravation and just start there

Somewhere today I read a poster saying how in this forum we tend to make people spend more money then they throught they would on gear and such. Too funny (but true). But the vex stuff is very reasonably priced considering what the Roland's go for and the quality lift you get.

Oh and I hear thier Fishbone Truth and Soul kit promises to be a killer (is anyone finding this amusing at all?)

Stay away from the UNO and get the Roland UM-1EX. Too many problems lately with UNO's in the past few months.
