How much better is the td20?

So I have my td6-sw maxed out, adding a 15" ride, another tom, and a dingbat.

I will be getting some money in the next couple of weeks and suddenly the td-20 brain is within my price range.

My question is this. Since I added v-expressions to my td6-sw I am amazed at the sound quality.

If I were to spend the money for a td20, is the new brain really worth the money since I am so pleased with my td6?

I can comment on an upgrade from a TD-6 + VEX kits to a TD-12 + VEX kits (TD-20 kits converted for use on TD-12) and I would say YES there is a huge difference and I am well chuffed with the upgrade. I suspect that the TD-20 expansion card (due out real soon!!) will change that that from a huge to chasm-like difference (but that's only speculation of course).

Like the others said - yes. The TD-12 is also a good choice when it comes to value for money. The TD-20, however, gives you more options and gets you closest to real feel.

How do these compare to the TD-9 as far as sound quality is concerned?

Out of the box, the 9 sounds are significantly better than the 6 - but there are fewer instruments and fewer kits. But the 9 will no doubt get even better now that VEX is on the case!
