Selling my TD20 module need to know how much is too much

hello out there. i put my TD20 sound module on craigslist for 900.00 but now i am thinking i am low balling myself. don't want to cheat myself but of course don't want to over do it with times being tough. a guy has already offered me 800.00 cash for it and asked originally if there's something wrong with it. i paid 1600.00 for it to start. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks. vdrumdude.

I think the reason he's asking if there's something wrong is that your price is low. A quick search of completed auctions on eBay shows the going rate on the module at about $1,200-$1,400. That guy offering 800 is low-balling YOU.

But seriously, check what the new price of the module is seeing Roland are "putting up the prices"....

The last used TD-20 module sold on eBay with at buy-it-now of $1,399....plus $25 shipping. There are some others that sold for $100 or $200 less, but I think vdrumdude is smart to throw it out there at that price and see what happens.

if you know where to shop you can get new td-20s for this price. i would say 1200$ would be a good start.

I wish him luck and I hope he gets his asking price. I am not saying that it is too much, it is just too much for me. The general eBay/craigslist community doesnt know about RMC Audio and the fantasitic prices they offer on Roland equipment. I would not pay $1400 for a used one when I can get a new one for $1500. I know Roland went up on 6/1, so I dont know the new prices but I doubt it was a drastic increase.

I just got a REALLY good deal on mine and it still cost me $2795 in Australia. The retail price here is $3995 and yes, that is just the module!

The best price I have seen is $1500 from RMC but that was on 5/28 when I called. I dont know what they are going for after the 6/1 price increase by Roland. Give them a shout, I am sure they would ship international.

I bought mine from BPM forr $1469. I've seen them sell for well over $1500 on Ebay.

I would if it wasn't for the warranty and voltage issues and the fact that I've already got my TD20..... damn that is a good price!

Roland prices in Australia compared to the U.S.A. - comment and question

I've tried to get a TD-20 kit shipped from the U.S.A. to Australia, but there is some constraint placed on the U.S. dealers by Roland - they're not allowed to ship overseas.

With the Australian dollar worth about 98 cents against the U.S. dollar it is very disappointing to see a kit like the TD20 costing only about 5K in the U.S. and 10K in Australia - methinks "something is rotten in Denmark" - a 240v AC adaptor isn't worth 5 thousand dollars.

The modules all run at the same voltage but the AC adaptor looks like it needs to be specific for 240v in Australia rather than 110v in the U.S.

If the Roland guys are "listening in" could you confirm if warranty is international and provide some sort of explanation on why there is such a price disparity?

Good post Hercules. I am very keen to hear an explanation for the price difference too.

FWIW, the TD12 and TD20 modules do not have an external PSU. Their power supplies are internal and also do not have a voltage selector. They are region specific.
Still, it is cheap enough to do what I have done with my TMC6 (110 volt model) and use a stepdown transformer. I already had my stepdown transformer because I also have some US synth gear and test equipment that will only run on 110 volts.
