  • DM5 Pads with TD-3?

    Hi,

Forgive me if this has been answered already.
I am a guitarist of 25 yrs trying to learn the drums.
Bought myself the Alesis DM5 basic kit.

If I wanted to expand my sound could I purchase a TD-3 module and plug
my Alesis DM5 pads into it rather than using the DM5 module? Are the DM5 Pads compatible with the TD-3 or any other sound modules?

This is all new to me :-)

    Thank you

First off, welcome to the board! As to your question, yep, you sure can. You can also daisy-chain the DM5 via mix-in jack on the TD-3 or connect the DM5 to to the TD-3 via MIDI for expansion purposes. Daisy-chaining is little more involved than Roland-to-Roland, but it really isn't that hard and will always be easier than connecting via MIDI. Your DM5 pads should work fine with the TD-3.
