how do I do this? [trigger keyboard part]

hey everybody,

My band wants to do a cover tune, "red dragon tattoo" and we don't have a keyboard player. I was wondering about triggering that cool synth sound with my vpad. I usually just use my v-drums, (td-10 vsession) for silent practice purposes, but I would love to start utilizing it during live performance.

What equipment other than the td-10 and pads will be needed to do this?

What is the price to get this happenin?

I'm not familiar with that tune, but it's fairly easy to setup keyboard parts in the modules that provide the appropriate sounds. I have not done this on the TD-10, but I have done dozens of tunes on the TD-20 for a corp wedding band I was once in.

Search for 'recording TD-20 backing tracks' (or something close to that) by Mr Stixx. He has a tutorial for this.

I was thinking that I would need to sample the keyboard sound and then trigger that sample with some other hardware. The keyboard part is in the intro of the song and then again later. I am not talking about the keyboard solo.

I am not sure the td-10 can or has the sound I am looking for.

Not sure if that additional info is helpful, but I thought I would throw it out there.

As long as someone know MIDI you should be ok. I used to jam with a guitarist/ signer when I had the 10 we used to trigger the bass from the TD-10 from a Roland MC303 at the time.
