TD20 Hi Hat Eats Up Recording Memory Fix? (can't find thread)

I remember reading about how playing open hi hat eats up memory when recording into the module. The post mentioned a setting to reduce the memory usage (aside from just playing closed hi hat, lol).

Search as I may, I can't find the thread or any info anywhere on what to adjust.

I'm trying to record along to a 6 minute midi backing track and internal memory fills up before ever finishing the song.

This will become a challenge when working on my bands longer songs.

TRIGGER, HI-HAT (F3), CC RESOLUTION = NORMAL instead of HIGH.

But this only appears if Hi-Hat Ctrl Type is set to VH11/FD, not VH12.

When setting it to VH11, When I step on the hihat pedal, I can't get a fully closed hihat sound. The offset is displayed but I can't find a wa to adjust it.

Nope, that didn't do it either. It does show the meter lowering closer to center, but it doesn't bring it down far enough.
I did change it to VH11 in the main trigger bank screen, and also again on the HiHat trigger screen.

Could there be something in the physical setup of the hihat cymbals themselves?

Also, even set to VH11, I couldn't get through more than 5 minutes of recording before th memory filled up
