I just bought a used SPD-S on ebay and I need a copy of the CD. If someone here is willing to zip it up then I'm willing to host it on my website until the end of time for everybody else.
Click the "Downloads & Updates" button to access the UK ftp server and locate the SPDS_FACTORY_SETTINGS.zip file.
I did not see the file listed on the Australian site.
I would suggest to NOT post the audio contents of the CD.
(From page 135 of the SPD-S Owner's Manual):
Copyright notice for audio data Roland Corporation holds copyright on the audio data on the accompanying CD. You are not required to obtain our authorization to use this audio data to produce new work. However, the duplication of all or part of the audio data for creation or distribution of a reproduction (such as a data collection) is prohibited.*
You can order a replacement CD from Roland Customer service.
Unless and until Roland can provide downloads for ALL of the CD content then my request stands and I'll help any interested parties get their copy.
Correct me if I am wrong but you just purchased a used SPD-S without a CD and Drew has stated that replacement CD's are available but you still want to break the law regarding copyright, AND you are posting about that here?
I don't think either Roland, the mods here or a number of other members would look too favourably on this.
Purchasing a CD is hardly going to break the bank.
