Hi, and welcome. Maybe you've formatted the memory stick to NTFS, instead of FAT? Does it work ok on your computer?

I see you also added a comment to the following thread:

Not sure I understand what you said in that thread, though. Can you describe your problem in more detail. What is it that you are trying to do? Also what does your TD-9 do that leads you to believe that your USB stick doesn't work?

First things first. You need to format the drive on the TD-9. Did you do that? If not, see page 60 of your owners manual for instructions.

Secondly, when you download tracks, they have to be formatted correctly and stored in the correct location on your memory stick, or the TD-9 will not display them. More details on page 34 of your manual. But, in general, the .wav files must be saved in the root directory of your USB memory key. Also, they must have a .wav extension at the end of the file name, and they must have a 44.1 kHz sample rate with one of the following acceptable bit depths: 8/16/24 bit in a Linear PCM format.

If this isn't all met, then the file will not be displayed.

I am trying to decide on buying a new TD-9 or and older TD-10... On the TD-9, I am trying to figure out what the advantage is to playing audio files from the USB stick rather than just using the mix-in with an MP3 player. I don't see why having the module play the file is any different than your MP3 player playing it OR am I totally missing something here? Thanks.

Not much. You can repeat a section of a USB song. And some find the larger play/pause etc. controls of the module easier to handle.

I wanted this to work... i really did.
But after playing with this for a couple of weeks, I am simply growing tired of the size of the wav files. I can only put a little over 2 albums worth of songs on a 2GB drive. Stupid me, I went and spent $40 on an 8GB drive (good sale) thinking I could fit WAY more on it.....but forgot about the 99 song limit. So I have been putting the songs I DON'T want to listen to into folders and leaving less than 99 songs loose at the root directory. But this is still growing tired....simply too much jockeying of huge wav files.
I think I am done running through USB and will use the iPod from now on.
A mp3 player built into the TD-9 would have been really sweet.
