pd-120 with Gibraltar Rack needs ??

This is a virginal question, so don't flame me!! Im getting a few pd-120's from midwestpercussion and a Gibraltar Rack (curved one) from someplave else...what else do I need to mount the pads on the rack? I know the Rack comes with 4 multiclamps, but is there another piece of hardware I need ?

You'll need 10.5 mm L-rods, or tom holders with just those mentioned rods. Tama's holders will work, and Gibraltar has l-rods and tomholders with l-arms which will do the trick as well.

Yep...you need a chrome L-rod for each pad. Guitar center sells these for about $5 apiece - usually in pairs. They also sell off-brand multiclamps that looks just like the ones provided with the Gibraltar, but cost only $13 each - I needed two extra of these. FYI Pintech sells two items the Guitar Center sometimes carries. One is a $15 Pintech UM-1 module mount that is very nice and connects to a mutliclamp. The other is the CBA-2 Cymbal boom arm for a 3rd or 4th cymbal. See: http://www.edrums.com/hardware.htm

Looks like I answered at the same moments as McC. above Looking down that Pintech page - I noticed those LR-78 rods with one end a little longer than the usual. NICE for $7 since they would give you more positional possibilities. And Lord knows we all need that....

gee whiz you guys are great! I am going to order...let's see...um..3 of them. I just ordered the new v-drum HH cymbal and figure that unit will mount with one of the same type L-rods also? Also, I just realized that since Im piecing this setup together I will need the cables also -- the single trigger pads will use a simple mono guitar-like cable i presume and the dual trigger pads will use a 'stereo' cord...no reason to buy the Roland hoolup cables right...right?

Right on all counts. For the CY12H, mount the multiclamp upside down with the L-rod sticking straight up - it will be obvious when you see it.

Barry, do yourself a favor and get all your cables to be stereo. Down the road, they'll already be there when you need them.

Yes, all stereo. Just went to 2 sam ash's near me...one doesn't have the cables in stock (they don't have anything in stock really...) also the AKG headphones I wanted also not in stock, and the other store wants 12.99 for a ONE ten foot stereo Roland cord. UGGHHH. Going to see RadioShack and Guitar center to see what they can offer.

Agree with the stereo cable suggestion. The CY12H will come with a stereo cable in the box. Don't know if you knew that.

I just ordered my four RED V-Pads (midwestpercussion has the super lowest $ for all roland pads bythe way.... Two pd-120's,a pd-100, and the kd-120. It just occured to me that is it possible that the new pads I just ordered will all come with a stereo cord in the box? (for $339 it should come with ...well...)

Get one spare cord for every cord you have, it's good to have spares lying around in case something goes wrong, and cables do break.

Better safe than pissed off.

Stu, one spare cord for *each* cord?? You mean that you carry 10-11 spare stereo cords around with you??? Nah. All yopu need is one or 2 (say, a 3-ft and a 6-ft one) which should cover any on-the-spot emergencies. I can't imagine *every* cord going bad while playing out! What do you do to your cords??? $^)

Although I do confes to taking a Pintech K3 kick trigger along with me, in case my KD80 ever goes bad. It barely takes up any room...

I pamper my cords, I just can't always protect them from the rough-and-tumble species they call the stage hand.
I've had a lot of things happen to my cords over the years (I normally play roughly 200 gigs a year on electronics), from overzealous roadies pulling them out the case, leaving them to lie in a heap on the floor, and then accidentaly placing a Marshall stack on top of them, to discovering they were broken first time I used them (shoddy manufacturing, I won't name names, but lifetime guarantee my a_r_s_e!). I don't carry 10-11 spare cords around with me, I carry approximately 5 of every cord I need around with me in a seperate case. Call me paranoid, but anyhtning that can go wrong with cords on stage, it's happened to me.
