  • Adding a double kick???

Hello, Looking for some help....... I have a DIY kit with internal triggers. I am thinking about going double with the kick by adding a KD-7. I'm using a TD-12 module. Which is the best way to run into the module? Using an AUX input and turning it into a bass drum, or splitting channel 1 and using both kick drums with one input? Any suggestions??? Thanks....

Either would work; it depends if you may want different sounds on the two kicks. If both using the same sound is acceptable, then just split input 1 (or use the "Mix In" on the KD-7) and save the Aux.

You may find a small drop in overall KD level if you use both through the one port and, as BarT says, you end up with the same sound from both - if you have a spare port then that is the optimum setup

        Using Dual KD-7 Kick Triggers.

I have been using 2 KD-7's since 2003.. I use the "Mix-In" method and I have no problems whatsoever and no drop in level. I recommend this method.

I highly recommend kits from V-Expressions.

Parallel piezo's (ie connecting two triggers together) is not a problem technically. Even if you do experience a slight level drop, it is a simple matter to bump up your trigger sensitivity to compensate.
As Bruce says, save your Aux for another trigger. Trust me, every trigger input is like gold to someone who suffers from GAS

Using the mix in input on the KD-7 daisy chained to your other kick trigger will work fine and saves you using another input. You may need to increase the trigger sensitivity a little.
