Double Beat on a TD12

I have the TD12 too and here's what worked for me ...

Press "Trigger"
Press "F5" Advanced

Now you are on the Advanced triggers menu screen

You will see

Scan Time
Retrigger (cancel)
Mask Time

Use the directional arrow keys above the big dial and press down so you are on Retrigger (cancel) now turn the big dial whilst you play the kick and adjust that retrigger value so it goes up.

I went up to 12 on mine and it stopped the double hit/trigger but don't set too high as it will also eliminate and fast bass kick beats you perform. I went down to 10 (seems better)

ps u can also use "mask time" in the same fashion as that one, it's whatever works best for you, those are the 2 to look at anyway.

Hi again

It's foam for padding chairs. Gaffer tape is good too. Just stops wear on the beater. Lowering my beater to strike just below centre did it for me regarding double strikes.

I also line my beater up to strike about an inch below exact centre of mesh pad and i use a small square piece of foam attached to the mesh with double sided foam tape, this stops the felt beater being worn down or damage to mesh if using a plastic beater.

TD 12 Question - How do you adjust the kit to reduce/eleiminate the double beat on the bass drum pad. I have tried various adjustments to pedals and head tension to no avail. any suggestions please.
