Greetings, I'm a newbie to vdrums.com. I've been playing a set of yamaha DTXpress edrums for about 6 months. They are definitely not rolands (I hope I can still hang out here), but they were in my price range and I had not played in years. So, they were a good economy/reentry kit. They've been pretty good so far for the price. Is there much expertise on this unit in this forum? If so, I could sure use some help with a triggering problem. Here's the deal...seemingly out of the blue in the last couple days, my pads are failing to trigger when struck simultaneously, particularly when I am trying to play softly/dynamically. For instance, if I strike snare, kick and tom (or cymbal etc.) pad simultaneously, one (and often 2) of the three pads will not trigger or will trigger erratically. I have reset the brain to factory settings and reprogrammed and I have tweaked the reject/self-reject/gain settings for each pad repeatedly with no success. It seems to be a kit-wide problem and it is most aggrevating. I have experienced one trigger dominating another on occassion since I've owned the kit, depending upon drum kit selection, gain settings etc., but nothing this severe/persistent to date. Unfortunately, yamaha tech support, while seemingly competent once you get a live human, is near impossible to get on the phone and the turnaround cycle for contact is on the order of 48 hours (what's up with that anyway?). Any ideas to get me out of this jam would be greatly appreciated. Is my brain sick? Apologies for the long post. Thanks in advance.
ps: I think a roland kit is in my near future.
