First, I hope you all are having a great Memorial Day weekend and enjoying the freedom we have here in the good ole' USA.
Well, I've had my Harts for about 2 weeks now and in my opinion they're awesome!! They were well worth the three months I waited. Although I've played drums most of my life, I am new to e-drums so I am not pretending to be an expert in my review.
The set looks even better in person than in the pictures. The rack is very well built and sturdy. The mesh heads feel just like a's(I think). I haven't had a problem with mis-triggering or hot spots except for some mis-hits on the crash which was fixed by lowering the cross-talk. The dual zone works great on the ride and it's the quietest of all the cymbals. At first, I wasn't too happy with the hats but after a couple of days of becoming more familiar with the td-8, I was able to get them working the way I like. It's all about the parameters (chapter 7). The hats are also kinda' noisy, like hitting a table with your knuckles but look real nice. As far as the snare goes, the only complain is that I would get rim sounds when I would strike it hard near the edge without hitting the rim. So I just turned the rim off for right now. I'm sure I just didn't have it set up properly but I'll deal with that some other time. Other than that, it works great. The crash cymbals are a little noisy (not as loud as the hats) but trigger flawlessly and look great. I was getting multiple triggering on the kick due to the the pedal bouncing back. I tweaked the mask time and the threshold and it works great. The technical support has been excellent. Peter himself has actually gotten back to me promptly with answers to my questions by e-mail.
I use this kit primarily for my own enjoyment on my Sony 7506's (great head phones)and currently I am not playing with anyone except the td-8 musicians. I have it set up in my garage so the noise produced by the hats and crashes are not an issue, even at 2am with the wife and two little ones sleeping. I am extremely happy with my purchase and consider it money well spent.
I hope this review helps anyone thinking about purchasing the hart Pro kits, but keep in mind this is just my personal experience.
