  • Kontrol Screen vs. Roland Heads

I've been using my V-drums since '98 and loving every minute of it!! It's time to replace the heads. Has anyone used the Kontrol Screen heads on PD120 and PD100 pads as replacements? Or, should I stick with the Roland heads? Thanks for any help!!

Also, you may want to check out the <a href="http://www.drumbalaya.com/mesh_heads.htm" target="_blank">Mesh Head Comparison</a> that we recently put together. It's not quite complete yet, but a good start and may have some useful information for you. As I have many of these heads sitting in my workshop, I may be able to answer specific questions you may have about them.

Ed, I think I would draw a distinction between the Roland 2-plys and the Hart 2-plys on the chart if were up to me. I don't think the difference between them is clear from the chart, but there is a big difference IMO. Also, I think you have a typo where you say the Triggerheads feel like the Triggerheads.
        <blush> :-o

Fixed... That's what I get for doing copy/paste in the wee-hours...

BTW, I know you've also done a lot of testing and comparison, so if you have any specific comments, especially between the Roland head and the Hart 2-ply, let me know. They both felt firm to me, but the Hart was definitely firmer. Were you thinking to just simply state that more clearly?

        Thanks...

Yup, agreed. I added the clarification and highlighted it because you're right, it is vitally important for those looking for that quality.

          Good suggestion!

            Hi,
Would the Harts work and be an improvement on my Pintech pads?
            Thanks,

              Thanks CJude.
I will give them a try soon and post my opinion.
