  • All Sydney V Drummers - Advice Please

I'm looking to get into edrums. I've been playing acoustics for the last 20+ years and just recently purchased a new set of Pearl MMX master customs a 1 1/2 years ago. They've worked out great but I'm now looking to get some edrums for silent practice and possibly some Midi recording.

Thanks to all the great info on this site I've started going out and playing a few different set ups - primarily the Roland kits and the Yamaha.

I just moved to Sydney from Melbourne in Jan and I've only checked out Billy Hyde's in Sydney and they seem to have the best selection but the prices seem awfully high.

My question to Sydney folks is - Where did you get the best deal for your edrums? At a local music store (if so which one) or did you order over the internet?

    Thanks for any advice.

I can't really help you with purchasing in Sydney, but I did want to welcome another Aussie to the board! There arn't a lot of us here and I doubt that there are more than 2 from Sydney.
I'm down in Canberra and will be selling my V's shortly if you are interested.
I have gone in a full circle, I have moved from Pearl Masters to Vdrums and now back to Pearl Masters. I originally bought the V's for silent practise and ended up gigging with them.
Either way I hope you find what you are looking for!

'I only ever quote myself - except when I quote someone else' - me

, plenty of , and , , triggered acoustics, , and a plethora of PA blah blah freakin blah...I mean does anyone care about the specifics of pedals, speakers, processors, hardware or anything that I'm using?? Hmmm, maybe this is an appropriate place to mention that I tried out a new cymbal stand the other day...

Welcome Aussies! My advice.....put the pressure on any retailer for 20% off Roland product and you are more than likely to get it....

      ....just show them the money!!

      Happy drumming.

Get in touch with Micheal at the guitar factory - Paramatta: I've got heaps of v-gear from him, he's the best priced & most honest dealer in Sydney - oh, and the aftersales is great.

I'm in the UK now - say hi to him form Andy.

I was in Sydney for a day, once, back in 1984.
I had a great time at King's Crossing.
I also spent time in Canberra and Melbourne.
I almost got a tattoo in Sydney. Great place, what I can remember of it.
