  • New Akai Samplers

    Hey,

Has anyone had a chance to use the either of the new Akai samplers (Z4 or Z8)? It seems like they've got a couple of nice features, like USB slave/host built-in, and an internal 20GB hard drive.
    Cheers,

    JHH

Not to mention that they are 2U and will fit into a normal rack unit.
All the other samplers I've seen are as big as a house !!
Don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

So how many ppl out there are using soft samplers? I think they work OK, but you can't take them with you. I'd hate to drag my PC along to gigs.

I did check out the Z4 while I was in Boston this past weekend. Looks great, super-long samples loaded really fast!

Keep your eyes out for low prices. Lowest one I've seen is $1300 at zzounds.
        Cheers,

        JHH
