I just tried a 10" tom with a ddrum redshot trigger mounted and connected to a ddrum 4 brain and later with a Yamaha DTXPRESS brain.
The result was somewhat a dissapointment, the redshot trigger worked quite well with the ddrum 4 brain, however the low velocity strokes did not trigger with as near as good resolution as with the ddrum pads.
With the DTXPRESS brain it did work the opposite, when stroking hard the trigger (or mabey the DTXPRESS brain) read the signal as a low velocity stroke. Hmmmmm.....any suggestions on how to correct this? Mabey tuning the tom extremely high will do the trick. Has anyone experience of triggering with redshot triggers and mesh heads?
