  • Whats the TMC-6 Trigger Module and anyone have it yet?

Looks like we could add 6 new triggers to our TD-10's. Was wondering the price and if anyone has tried it. Looks Good if not to expensive.

I've emailed Roland Benelux last week about the price and I haven't had a reply yet, so probably they don't know it either.

I was just browsing Roland.be and downloaded a brochure of the TMC-6 in .pdf format.

There's a pic of the backside and it seems that input two called 'snare'. If you look into the specs it says "Connectors; Trigger input jacks x 6 (7 inputs)" so I think input two is a dual trigger input for sending three different notes; head, rimshot and crosstick.

Here's the link to the Dutch language course including free TMC-6 info; http://www.roland.be/diverse/New_pro.../pdf/TMC-6.pdf

You can find more PDF's in Dutch and French on Roland.be about other new products as well.

Rob where did you see or hear that price? Is it the dutch retail price or is it the "going" price?

Hey, it's compatible with footswitches as well. I'm curious what you could assign those to.

Musik Produktiv. In Germany the things are cheap. So in Holland it will be 500 dollar

Same price as I heard: 259 euro, if you exclude the shipping costs

No splash foot HH stuff with that, and no controlling another module with the FD connected to the TMC-6...

Why would the FD-7 functionality be different than with other Roland modules?

To me it would make most sense to send 3 different midi notes for three different sounds on the CY-15r.

That would be too bad... Would have been nice to have 7 inputs, including a snare input

Indeed and then it would be called TMC-7 and you would be saying; "Would have been nice to have 8 inputs, including a snare input"

A Philip Rees Little 2M will cost you about 70 euro.

OK, this trigger module looks good and all but.......... it is still interfacing with your unit through a midi port. I have little experience with this but I believe the midi interface you will add some small delay. For me this is unacceptable. I need it be as close to instantaneous as possible. My question is, how fast is the tmc-6? My understanding is that the midi implementation has not been upgraded so it must be similar to using an spd-20 or spd-6 and midi'ing into the brain(td X). How fast are those triggers?

Don't order at Piens, their price is so low that very much people order over there, so they have a huge backorder list.
Caspar knows what I'm talking about, he has waited a few months more than expected on his TD-6 kit.

They'll probably tell you "yeah we think it will arrive within 3 weeks" and then it takes three months or something.

So only buy it over there if they have it in stock.

Yeah, they told me it would be in next week and it came in about 1 and a half month later. Not really amusing.
The service is pretty good, I asked for a Dutchmanual and it was sent to me by UPS. It took 2 day's and no costs!

So, when you buy there, make sure it's in stock so you save yourself the hassle I went through.

                              Groet,
