I know this has been discussed before and ive reread the threads.
I was trying to record a multitrack version of Pattern 1 today to see how many seperate tracks I could get from the V-s.
Firstly let me say that the kit I was using was completly dry. All ambience,FX,EQ and compressor switches were off and all the relevent sends and returns were set to zero.
I was trying to record six separate mono tracks all at the same time by assigning two sounds to the same output and panning hard left and hard right.
This all seemed to be going ok till I noticed that on the ride track I could see (visually on the wave image on the screen)traces of the bass drum track.
So I solo`ed this track and there is a definate splill.
The spill comes from the kick drum which is panned left as well as the ride.
I thought at first that the spill might be within the soundcard on the pc which has 8 inputs so i pulled all the leads exept direct output 3 which had just the left channel plugged in.Ive now got only the one mono lead plugged into the TD10`s output with only the ride sound assigned to this output and on playing pattern 1 the ride is silent for the first couple of bars of that pattern and I can clearly hear the toms and the kick coming through.
Bringing down the volume faders for kick and toms confirmed that there was spill and also panning the kick hard right also got rid of it.
I`m just wondering if anyone else has come across this when using a completly "dry" kit and wether anyone could do a similar test to see if its just my module.
thanks
